Gyne-Lotrimin

One more super tool for fungal infection treatment on the basis of clotrimazole is Gyne-Lotrium. This medication is effective against ringworm, athlete’s foot, and jock itch, vaginal yeast infections (vaginal creams and tablets). In lozenge form, it is prescribed to treat oral yeast infections and to prevent them in people with weak immune systems.

Before starting to apply Gyne-Lotrimin prepare your skin and wash your hands. Massage Gyne-Lotrimin gently into the affected area and the surrounding skin.

If you are using a vaginal cream or tablet, first you should load the applicator to the fill line with cream, or unwrap a tablet, wet it with warm water, and place it in the applicator as shown in the product instructions. Then gently insert the applicator high into the vagina and push the plunger.  After, withdraw the applicator and discard it if disposable, or wash with soap and water.

If you miss a dose, try to take it as soon as you remember, but don’t take double dose in order to avoid overdosing.

Commonly, as it was shown by numerous studies, Gyne-Lotrimin are well tolerated by the patients, but still some people feel side effects, such as blistering, burning, hives, irritated skin, itching, peeling, reddened skin, stinging, swelling due to fluid retention, abdominal/stomach cramps/pain, burning/irritation of penis of sexual partner, headache, pain during sexual intercourse, skin rash, hives, vaginal burning, vaginal irritation, vaginal itching, vaginal soreness during sexual intercourse. You may notice this info, while using the vaginal preparations Gyne-Lotrimin, you’d better avoid sexual intercourse or make sure your partner uses a condom. This will prevent reinfection. Beside, oils used in some vaginal preparations can weaken latex condoms or diaphragms.

Pregnant women should consult with the doctor before going to buy Gyne-Lotrimin or some other medication that contains clotrimazole, only after fool examination you may start to treat with this medication.

For today, it is not known whether clotrimazole appears in breast milk, but in order to avoid problems, breastfeeding women should avoid the use of Gyne-Lotrimin.
