Grifulvin V is an antifungal medication that has fungistasis action on various types of fungus. Remember, this drug is ineffective when candidiasis. An important feature of Grifulvin V is its effectiveness when taken orally.
So, as you may notice, Grifulvin V pills are an essential means of treating patients with dermatomycoses. It was appointed in the treatment of patients suffering from crusted ringworm, trichophytosis and microsporia scalp and smooth skin, Athlete’s smooth skin, as well as lesions of nails (onychomycosis), caused by pathogenic fungi (trihofiton, red epidermofiton).
Tablets should be taken inside during a meal (with 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil). The suspension is designed for children under 3 years of age. Grifulvin V is used independently with limited skin lesions and in conjunction with receiving the drug inside.
When microsporia, adults should take 8 tablets per day and children 21 – 22 mg / kg per day. The drug is taken daily until the first negative review on the fungus, then the same dose for 2 weeks every other day.
In the treatment of patients with mycosis of the scalp there should be shaved the hair weekly, wash your hair with soap and water 2 times a week. It is recommended to rub into the scalp antifungal ointments and lubricate pockets 2 – 3% alcoholic solution of iodine.
Taking this medication, try to avoid missing dose (which causes irregularity of treatment schedule) and overdose. In any case turn to the doctor and follow his further instructions.
While Grifulvin V application there may appear possible diarrheal effects, headache, nausea, dizziness, disorientation phenomenon, urticaria. Sometimes develop eosinophilia, leucopenia, less leucocytosis. In these cases it is recommended to take a break in treatment for 3 – 4 days, and in mild cases, enough to reduce the daily dose for 4 – 5 days.
When hives should be taken into antihistamine drugs, 10% solution of calcium chloride, and while nausea take inside a tablespoon of 0,5% solution of Novocain.
It is recommended to assign patients some vitamins: ascorbic acid, thiamin, riboflavin, nicotinic acid, 1 times 10 – 15 days to do blood tests.
Grifulvin V contraindications: pronounced leucopenia and systemic blood diseases, organic diseases of liver and kidney porphyry disease, malignant neoplasm, pregnancy, breastfeeding.
The drug should not be given to drivers, pilots, those who employed in high-altitude work.
